Oh I want read so much more on this topic or to become one of your coaching clients!

I work to create engagement, but find it hard to create a solid hook. I know authenticity is key, but It's a slippery quality that's hard to pin down.

My book comes out in November. I'm working on a strategy but fear there's a lot I don't know. Sigh...

I feel like an orphan in a Dickens’ book with my cup out, hoping for another scoop of porridge! 😂 Please, can I have some more?!

It is a slippery quality, but gets easier once we discover which advice is nonsense. Hint, a lot of it. Years ago, I used to do group coaching in small groups. We'd get on the phone 6-12 of us and go round robin. My 20-year client was part of that original group, if you can believe.

I'm working on a site with marketing and design assets, but I want to complement them with how to materials. Seems like there is never enough time in the day to do all the things I want to do, but I keep pecking away. I think you'll enjoy the post I'm working on. :)

VOCAL - Heart Emoji

Thank you. :)

Vocal brought tears to my eyes. Just how cruel can one human be to another? How many people have been marginalized or killed by preconceived ideas about gender, ethnicity, color, or religion? I have always believed that we are only self-aware primates, but the other animals rarely kill for any reason other than food. Even mate selection is usually not fatal.

George Bernard Shaw, "I become more convinced that beings from other planets are using the Earth as a lunatic asylum."

Thank you so much, from my heart. For reading it, and coming back to post this. Love that quote -- it made me laugh.

Hello Linda

I like your articles, they reflect our lives everywhere.

I like your sentences very much, this is one of them:

(I could give you examples of bad marketing until the cows come home)

take care

Your friend from Baghdad, IRAQ

Marketing has always been a slippery fellow for me. You are absolutely right--one blueprint or template doesn't fit every situation. How do you know what is right for you? How do you make your marketing--you--and not a costume you wear to attract attention?

Kathryn, I love that phrasing. You hit it spot on. Too often it does feel like a costume people put on. Some people don't want to wear it. Others get tired of it. But you nailed that - finding a strategy that feels like you, not a costume, that's what works best. Hoping I can help people do that.

I wish you luck. And after your luck, I wish me luck. And after my luck, I with the others luck too. Question of course is, to which do I wish the most luck? Care to take a guess? Hmmm?

Well, there will be 15 winners, so you have a few more names to wish luck to. That's if you're talking about the writing challenge, anyway. If not, I'll take all the luck I can get.

Oh, Linda,

You squeezed my heart hard with your Vocal submission. I flashed back to every friend that was picked on, bullied, or worse. Just for being themselves.

Sending good vibes your way and a big hug for being you. Vocal heart sent.

I always struggle. It's like "too much?" "too little?" Often I'm swinging on a pendulum. Thanks

Yup, I get that. Plus, the hardest marketing is when we do it for ourselves. For someone else, it's easier to be objective from a bit of distance.

Marketing is an ongoing struggle as I throw the spaghetti at the wall and nothing seems to stick. Have the website, social media accounts, newsletter, ads on different platforms, etc. People who have read my book like it, but I struggle to find new readers. Then the depression hits and anyway, I'd rather be spending time finishing up the second Rabbit Noir story. So less and less marketing gets done. 🤫

I would like to read more about how you could help a part-time writer become a full-time writer. I have a fairly demanding full-time job, I don't use Facebook as I find most of the posts to be worthless drivel about kids, pets, or other trivia that doesn't interest me. I write about economics and politics, trying to balance my writing from both sides of an issue. I have no email list, so I am starting from scratch, but then I have no bad habits to overcome. I don't use any of the other platforms like Twitter, Linked-In, etc. because I have never seen any good suggestions on how to start. In my previous business life, I always used word of mouth to build my business, so I have negative marketing skills. Interested in a challenge?
