Thanks, Karen. I make a lot of mistakes, but I learn something every time. lol

Good points to consider if I'm ever in that situation. Thanks for your insights. They're always appreciated. I'd be happy with your regular daily views though. I'll keep posting and eventually things will pick up.

Thanks, Tree. You will get there, too. And I say that because you're just so kind and giving that I can't see how you wouldn't. It took me a long (long) time to get there. When I look at how much I've written, I realized Mom was right. My middle name is stubborn. lol.

Thanks, Jay, that's really nice of you. Much appreciated. Sometimes I wonder if I should be fessing up my mistakes, but if I can help even one person avoid the same mistake, totally worth it! Nice to see you again and hope you're well.

I'm sure you've already helped plenty of people with what you share. I file those nuggets away. ;)

I read somewhere that when we need to learn something, life throws a rock first. If we don't heed the rock, a brick is next. Better nuggets than bricks. Although, if I collect enough bricks, maybe I can build something with them. lol.

Thanks Linda! These are great suggestions.

I’ve had a few pieces do very well and haven’t known what to do about it. It is a wild feeling. Exciting although it brings a lot of extra work since I tend to receive letters and comments. Unless super nasty, I respond which can become time consuming.

How do you recommend linking to other posts? Providing an link to a something like Linktree? I also direct people to a landing page for email signup.

Thanks a million! Happy holidays. :) <3!

I am still replying to the comments, so I can relate! I don't use something like linktree only because I find that I ignore those myself. I figure if I ignore them, others might, too. What I've found works best is just a real short sentence with text links. Oddly, when I stopped putting my signup in the footer and just left it in my profile, signups increased. Weird, right? Maybe people don't like feeling "pushed" to sign up. But when I link to my own publication, I seem to get more views. I should have edited that article when it took off and added a simple link to my pub at the bottom. Hindsight and all. Good to see you! :)

1- Yes Medium tutors are not actually helping readers to make it big (payouts the focus, sadly a misplaced objective for the creatives). But surely their focus is to end up making it big for themselves.

Lindas are but few and far between.

You did hit the nail hard: Recipes are for cookies, not cash.

2- Yes, now I know it was Medium’s “endless content” feed that perplexed me how the same writer can churn out a horrible mix of masterpieces & ‘also ran’ stuff

3- Modesty & Humility are the hallmarks of all those who made it in their chosen field, eg: Linda.

They like to ever doubt their own competence and capabilities -a key ingredient for not resting on laurels, but growing taller & taller.

4- My outburst as these may appear to be an attempt at flattery. Believe me I always mean that I say, &

While doing that, also like to put to test my own writing skills. I yearn for a judgment !

Thanks
