I found this out fundraising for restoration of an historic landmark. We were most successful with the "act now before you lose this forever" approach than "let's improve the park" approach. I'm not sorry. In this case, the ends justified the means.

I totally agree, Denise. I've done a lot of fundraising for charity and found exactly the same thing. I'm not sorry, either. But I do sure like to look at what makes us tick, and think about where it's necessary and where it's really not. Tiny changes are sometimes better than no changes. And even when there's no changes, aware is better than unaware.

I love apples, especially for making apple pie. It irks me when people have apple trees and let the windfalls rot. So many apple pies never to see the light of day. Somewhere in that scenario is an analogy of sorts, about effort and perspective of what we don't know we've got. x
