Happy Friday, If I keep my eyes straight ahead, I won't see it there, haunting the corner of my eye. Tall red candles that made little eyes shine, little brother standing on tippy toes on a wooden chair to light them, Mama’s hands cupped around his.
Lovely. We share a common thread - my spouse Peter is a Ukrainian American. His maternal and paternal grandparents emigrated here - whenever. They settled in “coal country,” NE Pennsylvania.
When I was a child we had Ukrainian neighbours who always included us at Christmas. Having come from a 2nd generation English family where everything was roasted or boiled, I loved the pierogis and cabbage rolls. Such a treat.
Oh, I am late to this but I hope your celebration was full of light, joy, love and wondrous food
Thanks Jen, it was indeed. :)

Thanks, Carol. That's exactly what we are going to make and eat. At least part of it. Trust me, there will be more. We shall be eating for days. lol
Merry Christmas
Thanks, Carol
